1. What is the Qualification for GNM Nursing Course?

12th Std pass from any stream. Preference for Science stream. English subject is mandatory.

Yes

4. What is a GNM Course?

GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery.

5. What makes your nursing course unique?

6. How many students are accepted?

40 for GNM

7. Can I work full time and attend college?

No. The course is full time.

8. What can I do after the GNM Course?

You can get placed at a hospital as a nurse.

9. Is Nursing good for males?

Yes

10. Can I do Nursing after 12th Arts?

Yes

11. Are applicants able to enroll in the program during any semester?

No. There is no mid-semester admission.

12. Is there a waiting list for admission into Nursing?

Yes

13. How will I know if I am eligible for admission?

If you are 12th std pass with minimum 40% marks and English being one of the languages taken, you are eligible to get admission into GNM course.

14. If I am eligible for admission, but do not get a seat in the class, do I have to reapply for admission?

Yes

15. How long will it take me to earn the GNM Degree?

Three years (3 years)

17. Do I need to have all the prerequisites before I apply for the nursing program?

Yes

18. How do I submit my nursing program application?
19. Is it possible to transfer (non-nursing) courses from another college or university?

Only Nursing courses can go for migration transfer as per GNM Board terms and conditions.

20. I failed or dropped a nursing class at another college; can I apply for admission to Santhome School of Nursing to continue?

No.

21. I need all of my clinicals on one day of the week. Is this possible?

All the classes are pre-scheduled and you will be expected to follow the schedule strictly.

22. Are students able to work while enrolled in the program?

No.

23. What about job placement for nursing graduates?

All the students who successfully graduate will have 100% placement

24. I already have a bachelor’s degree. Must I compete or retake the general education courses to enter the nursing program, or do I only take nursing courses?

Only Nursing Course (upper age limit 35yrs)

25. If I am not admitted into the program this year, can i apply again next year?

Depends on the reason for your non-admission this year.

26. I have worked in the Healthcare field before. Do I still have to take the whole program?

Yes

27. If I am not admitted into the program this year, can I take any classes that will give me credit in the program?

No

28. What is the average age of students entering the programs?

18 years to 20 years (18-35 yrs.)

29. When will I hear if I have been accepted?

30. Does this program qualify for a student loan?

Generally Yes. You will need to check with your specific bank for the same.

31. What happens if I have to leave this program before I have completed it – can I come back and continue my education?

You have to complete the course within six years

32. What types of jobs will I be qualified for after I graduate?

You will be a qualified Nurse ( Nursing Officer).

33. Will I have to attend school during the summer?

The time of  annual vacation varies in nursing courses. It may or may not coincide with summer vacation of schools and colleges.

34. Do you have a part-time and/or evening program?

No. GNM is a full time course

35. Do I need to send a transcript from EVERY college I have attended?

No, only the transcript of 12th standard or 2nd PUC

36. Does the School of Nursing offer distance learning programs?

No

37. Is my nursing education complete when I graduate from your school?

GNM is only a Diploma course. If you want a degree you may have to go for PCBSC Nursing after GNM, which will be equivalent to BSC Nursing Degree.
